I love your padlocks!  How much do they cost?
Blank Padlock (no engraving) = $20
Single Side engraved = $30
Both sides engraved = $35

How many words or characters can I have engraved per side?
We recommend 15 words or less, however we have engraved 40 words in the past, and it is certainly legible, but the text is very small.

How long will it take to arrive?
We usually engrave padlocks within 1 business day and send a confirmation email once the order has shipped.   We offer two shipping options for delivery within Australia:

Registered Post = $8 per order.  Your order will be sent via Australia Post from Canberra with tracking and signature on delivery.  Please allow between 1 to 6 business days once your order has shipped for delivery within Australia.
Express Post = $14 per order. Your order will be sent via the Express Post network from Canberra and a tracking number will be provided so you can keep an eye on it.  Check if your postcode is included in a next day delivery area.

International orders are sent by Airmail and cost $16AUD per order.  Timeframes are not easily defined but are usually within 10 business days.

I've been provided a tracking number, but the tracking website shows that no events have been recorded?
The tracking features offered by Australia post are fairly basic in that they only start showing events once the package has arrived at your local post distribution centre (often the same day it is delivered).    If your padlock has taken longer than the timeframes indicated above, please email sales@belovedpadlocks.com.au

Can I pay via Paypal?
Sure! During checkout you will be given the option to pay via credit card or via PayPal.

Will my Beloved Padlock rust?
Our padlocks are made of brass, which as a metal, is not prone to rust.   That being said - brass is absolutely prone to tarnishing, and all metals will eventually corrode - the rate of which is accelerated when exposed to the weather, salt, etc.  

Our padlocks are beautifully polished by hand only moments before being packaged and sent to our customers, and should look great as they are ceremoniously locked somewhere.   They won't fall apart and should still be there for many, many years to come.    We engrave using a rotary drill which ensures the text lasts a lot longer than laser engraving too.   If you wanted to maintain the lock, a regular polish with "brasso" should keep it looking great.

Do the padlocks come in different colours and styles?
Not at this time.  We currently only offer the brass paddock in a double heart shape.

Do your padlocks come with a key?  Can they be unlocked?
No.  Our padlocks lock only once, to symbolise eternal love!   Once they are locked they cannot be unlocked again.
